Mini-course on French phonetics – ‘present, past or future?’
Language proficiency required: from Intermediate 1 (A2)
No more misunderstandings! At the end of this mini-course you will be able to determine present, past and future tenses in conversational context or in a retelling; you will also be able to distinguish written forms of these tenses and to form corresponding grammatical structures. During this course you will have the opportunity to learn about the The International Phonetic Alphabet which, when using French dictionaries or manuals, will help you understand word pronunciation.
You will learn how to identify and how to use open and closed vowels in French, how to distinguish tenses and how to talk about events at different times in the past, as well as how to distinguish the different written forms of open and closed vowels and much more.
During the course you will use and note different vowels, use Present Simple, as well as past and future tenses.
All materials, printed or electronic, will be provided. You will have to have a pocket mirror (to evaluate your own articulation) and a telephone (or another device) with you in order to create voice recordings.
